This webpage is designed to will help guide both parents and
students through the process of acquiring scholarship money to
reduce the cost of your college education.
Local Scholarships
Port Jervis High School students
are fortunate to live in a community that recognizes your
achievements. Thanks to the generosity of the local groups and
organizations, alumni and community members who established
scholarships, approximately $99,500
is awarded annually to
graduating seniors for scholastic achievement, athletic
success, strong leadership skills or good citizenship.
The
deadline for the 2012 local scholarships has passed.

National & State Scholarships
There are a many different types
of scholarships available to help students pay for tuition,
books, housing or other education-related expenses.

Application Criteria & Deadlines
You may be eligible for one or more of the scholarships. But,
you will not be considered if you do not apply.
Each scholarship has its own
specific criteria and application deadline. The deadlines are
firm. It is the student’s responsibility to pay attention to
these opportunities and make sure the appropriate paper work is
turned in on time.
Updates & More Information
The Guidance Department will update the scholarship information
throughout the school year. Information can also be obtained by
contacting Maryann Hull in the High School Guidance Office at
858-3100, Ext. 11601.

You
can receive senior class news right in your e-mail box by
creating a SNN profile. Please make sure when creating or
updating your profile to check the box specifically for
seniors-class of 2013. You will receive updates on senior class
information as well as scholarship information.

for scholarships. Beware of services that charge a fee for
scholarship help.
Common scholarship scams
Show your appreciation
Staff at the Port Jervis High School encourage students who
receive monetary scholarships or commendations show their
appreciation through prompt thank you letters expressing
gratitude.
