Port Jervis Middle School teaches students that
Success Starts with You.
This fall, a new incentive program - Port Card or PC - was
launched to help promote student success and reward those who
demonstrate good character and
follow the school rules to be responsible, respectful,
and ready.
 Students
rewarded for positive behavior.
As part of the PC initiative, all students receive a Port
Rewards Card.
The card will be taken from any student for misbehavior that
does not support the school rules. Those who follow the rules
will retain their card. As an incentive for positive behavior,
an incentive will be rewarded every two weeks to students who
maintain their cards.
Examples of positive expectations are:
Be Responsible
• Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
• Bring all materials needed to class –including planner -everyday.
• Use time wisely.
• Always produce quality work.
• Ask questions whenever you don’t understand.
Be Respectful
• Enter class quietly.
• Follow all classroom rules.
• Listen when others are speaking.
• Respect all adults in the classroom: substitutes, teacher- assistants,
volunteers,
speakers, etc.
• Respect everyone’s property.
Be Ready
• Be in your seat when the bell rings.
• Have a pen, pencil, binder, and paper.
• Complete all assignments on time.
