Board of Education
A local board of education is an agency of New
York State governed by NYS law and the Regulations of the
Commissioner of Education. The Port Jervis City School District
Board of Education has the power to develop policies, rules and
regulations for the operation of our school system.
There are nine residents who serve, without pay, on our school
board. On the third Tuesday in May, three members are elected on
a rotating basis to a three-year term of office.

Noeleen Casey-Tomasi, incumbent
Michael Bello and Reyes Torres
were elected May 15 to serve three-year terms, which begin July 1.
Richard McElroy won the fourth seat, which carries a one-year
term. He was sworn in at the May 17 School Board meeting.
