Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!
ASK participates in the nation's largest reading celebration
The students and staff at
ASK Elementary School celebrated the anniversary of Dr. Seuss’s
birthday in a big way! The week was kicked off with an
exciting “reading rally” where Patricia Halpenny and several
sixth grade students performed jazzy number from “Seussical the
Musical” to inspire students to participate in the month-long
Parents as Reading Partners Program which encourages children to
read at home with their families.
On March 2, numerous community
members came in to read several of the cherished author’s most
famous books to the children. The school hallways were decorated
with many examples of the students’ Seuss-like drawings, as well
as cheerful reproductions of Theodor Seuss Geisel’s own
creations. Many Seuss inspired snacks were made and enjoyed, Cat
In The Hat hats were worn, and a great time was had by all.
