Varsity Academic Letter
Port Jervis High School
honors students for academic success
(POSTED: JANUARY 3, 2012)

Port Jervis High School has created a varsity letter to
recognize academic success. For the first time in school
history, students who excel in the classroom will now have the
opportunity to earn an academic letter. The new varsity letter
is similar to what is presented to Raider athletes.
“The PJ varsity letter is a symbol of excellence in our
community,” said Principal Thomas Bongiovi. “We are extremely
pleased that this coveted award will now be presented to
students as a reward for their exceptional academic
accomplishments.”
On December 22, the High School honored 59 seniors, who earned a
90 or higher average for their first three years of high school,
at its first Varsity Academic Letter awards presentation. The
